Thermage FLX in Korea
Radiofrequency heating of the dermis, priced by shot count because the tip is the consumable. One session, with the result arriving over months.

What the treatment does
One session, result over monthsMonopolar radiofrequency passes energy through a volume of tissue and heats it. Unlike focused ultrasound, which concentrates energy into discrete points at set depths, radiofrequency warms a broader area more evenly. The skin responds by remodelling collagen over the following two to six months, and it is that remodelling, not the treatment itself, that produces the tightening.
It is usually a single session rather than a course, which is the main practical difference from laser work. For a visitor that makes it one of the few treatments on the list that can genuinely be started and finished in one trip.
Ultherapy or Thermage
Choosing between them on brand recognition is the most common mistake. They reach different tissue, and which one suits you is a question about your face rather than about the machines.
Different layers
Focused ultrasound reaches the SMAS, the fibrous layer a surgical lift repositions. Radiofrequency works mainly in and just below the dermis.
Different feel
Ultrasound is felt as sharp points along a line. Radiofrequency is felt as repeated heat with cooling between pulses.
Different candidates
Sagging along the jaw and neck tends to favour ultrasound. Loose, crepey skin with reasonable underlying support tends to favour radiofrequency.
Often both
Where both apply they are sequenced rather than stacked on the same day. Which comes first depends on what is being corrected.

The tip is the treatment
The treatment tip carries a fixed number of shots and is single use. A quoted price without a stated count tells you nothing you can compare, and a notably cheap quote usually means a lower count or a refilled tip.
Manufacturer-supplied tips only. The tip is opened in front of you and the count is stated before treatment begins.
Prices above exclude 10% VAT. A first consultation is $35 (₩50,000). This is the autumn schedule, valid 1 September to 31 October 2026; it is the same list quoted to Korean patients, with no agency commission and no international-patient surcharge. Prices after 31 October are quoted at consultation.
Frequently asked
What does Thermage FLX do?
It delivers monopolar radiofrequency into the dermis and the layer beneath it, heating a volume of tissue rather than a single plane. The response is collagen remodelling over roughly two to six months, which tightens skin that has become lax.
How is it different from Ultherapy?
Focused ultrasound concentrates energy at set depths, including the SMAS layer, in discrete points. Radiofrequency heats a broader volume more evenly. They reach different tissue, which is why patients are often better served by one, and sometimes by both in sequence, rather than choosing on brand name.
How much does Thermage FLX cost in Korea?
On the autumn 2026 schedule a 300-shot treatment combined with 2 cc of salmon DNA and skin botox is ₩1,000,000, reduced from ₩1,100,000. VAT of 10% is added and a first consultation is ₩50,000.
Why is it priced by shot count?
The treatment tip holds a fixed number of shots and that is the consumable being used. A quote without a shot count cannot be compared with one that states it, and a low price with an unstated count usually means fewer shots rather than a better deal.
Does it hurt?
It is felt as repeated heat with cooling between pulses, and it is more noticeable over bone along the jaw and forehead. Energy is adjusted to what you tolerate. Being told it is painless is a warning sign, because a level low enough to be unnoticeable is usually too low to do anything.
How soon will I see a result?
There is often a small immediate effect from tissue contraction, then a gradual change over two to six months as collagen remodels. Judging it at two weeks underestimates the outcome.
How long does it last?
Commonly quoted as around a year to eighteen months, varying with age and how much laxity was present to begin with. It slows an ongoing process rather than halting it.
Is one session enough?
For most patients yes, unlike laser courses that run in multiples. Where laxity is more advanced, the honest answer at consultation may be that radiofrequency alone will not achieve what you are asking for.
