What Rejuran is
Not a filler, not a toxinRejuran is a polynucleotide preparation, derived from purified salmon DNA, injected into the dermis in a grid of small deposits. The intended effect is on the skin itself: hydration, texture, and the condition of the dermis over the weeks that follow.
It is worth being precise about the category, because the three most requested injectables in Seoul do entirely different things. Botulinum toxin reduces muscle movement. Hyaluronic acid filler occupies space and changes contour on the day. Rejuran does neither. If what you want is a visible change in shape when you leave the clinic, this is the wrong treatment and you should be told so at consultation rather than after four sessions.

Assessment
Whether the complaint is actually skin quality. Volume loss, laxity and pigment are common reasons a course of this disappoints, and they are treated by other means.
Sessions
Commonly three to four, two to four weeks apart. Topical anaesthetic beforehand; the appointment itself is short.
The days after
Small bumps at each injection point, settling within a day or two. Bruising is possible, more so around the eyes. Not a no-downtime treatment.
Review
Assessed several weeks after the course rather than immediately, because the change is gradual by design.
Where it fits alongside other treatment
Usually an adjunct, not a stand-aloneMost patients who benefit are being treated for something else at the same time. Between resurfacing sessions it supports barrier and dermal recovery, which matters particularly on skin prone to post-inflammatory pigment. Alongside a lifting course it addresses surface quality, which lifting does not touch.
What it does not do is substitute for the primary treatment. Used alone on skin whose actual problem is laxity or pigment, it produces a modest change and a disappointed patient, and this is the most common way it is mis-sold.
Sequence and interval are planned rather than improvised. Injecting into skin that has just been resurfaced is not the same as injecting into intact skin.

What is the downtime?
Small raised bumps at each injection point are expected and usually settle within a day or two. Bruising is possible, particularly around the eyes. Plan around events rather than assuming there is no visible aftermath.
Does it hurt?
Topical anaesthetic is applied beforehand. Most patients describe it as tolerable rather than comfortable. The under-eye area is the most sensitive.
Can it be combined with laser or lifting?
Frequently, but the order and the interval matter. Injecting into skin that has just been resurfaced is not the same as injecting into intact skin, and the sequence is planned rather than improvised on the day.
Is it suitable for acne scarring?
It is used as an adjunct rather than as the primary treatment for atrophic scars. It supports dermal recovery between resurfacing sessions; it does not lift a tethered scar floor.
Do I need Korean health insurance?
No. Registration takes a passport. This is a private treatment and is not covered by Korean national health insurance for residents either.
